dd951....why are all of your "a" capitalized? I know the letter "a" is next to the CapsLock button, just can't seem to figure out how/why you do that????????

dd951, and buck67. I thank you both for your service to our country, my family and me.
I could write you a novel about how Red Dazes came to be... but I'll give you the Cambell's Soup version instead.
I did a Resident Evil Forum based RP for a few years, my character of choice was named Rayne Elizabeth Dazes, or Rayne E. Dazes (Rainy Days...cause I am a dork and it was easy to remember) After the RP died, Rayne E. Dazes became my pin name for all my writing as well as my online alias. Would have stayed that way too until one of my friends asked me "Hey, you remember that RP we did. Rayne was an awesome character, you need to write a story about her." And thus A story was born. When I file my character creation sheets I do it by abbreviation of the characters names . e.g, someone named Brandon R. Baxter would be filed under BRB ((and no that was not intentional either)) So Rayne E. Dazes became... RED.
Thus Red Dazes.... It has stuck around for enough years that I don't think it is going anywhere. ^_^ End Story
That's cool Red.
One question:
What's the ferret's name?
We have had three over the years as pets. Scooter, Tinker, and Kitty.
Scooter was just Scooter.
Tinker, was so named because our oldest daughter couldn't say Stinker. He was a mess.
And Kitty was named by a neighbor's little 2 year old daughter. When we brought her home she could easily fit in the palm of your hand. The little girl petted her and said "Nice kitty"...
Kitty was a little B.... well she was always grumpy.
We have 4 ferrets....and a cat.
Kodo, who is Penguin's avatar, was named when we got him...didn't have a lot of choice on that one ^_^
Dr. Watson, who was my avatar up until about 5 seconds ago, I named thus because...well, while smart, isn't quite a Sherlock.
Pandora, my little love, is named such because when we got her and brought her home in the box, the cat thought it would be great fun to stick her paw into it...and got bitten, and Penguin said "That's what you get for messing with a Pandora's box kitten." and it stuck.
Bellatrix, the head of the house, was named "Silver Bell" when we got her from the shelter...and it made me want to puke... so we started calling her Bella...which morphed into Bellatrix...and it has just kind of become her name.
And Artemis the cat is named such in jest... because even though she is the clawless wonder((we adopted her as such)) she thinks she is the world's best hunter.
^_^ I suppose I'll have to play pet owner sometime and put pictures up for all to see.
Cool Avatar.
Thanks! I've been struggling with it for a few days. I can't get the .gif to work quite how I want it... but it's closer than it has been... XP have to mess with the pictures a bit more to get them to mesh right lol.
Awesome reasons for names, I threw my name into a steam punk generator and it came out to be Raymond Langstaff, I actually like it and wish I had used that instead. In any case, my screen name is from the Manga and Anime titled GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka. He used to be a street punk, but then he cleaned himself up. I liked the idea so I stuck with it.
Hell, now I feel boring just using my first and last name squished together. At least this way I can remember my name after smoking a particularly high N bowl!
Some great stories on here, and thanks for all who have served!
For me Uncle Arthur works better than my weekend name. The Honorable Lord Finnr Bjornsson of Dublin, (around the year 980 or so )
Oh thank God!
I thought it was short for Unclear Thursday....
:0)
lol Lawrence!
Your not alone I was fooled as well.
ColonelMcmuf is an old email address I've had for years. Sadly I don't remember where the initial inspiration came from.
I wish I had my own Urban Dictionary page. I guess I have to be either more popular or more notorious.
Simon
Fred Vegas,
When I first saw your name, I thought you might have been Freddie Vegas, owner of Vegas Smokes.
Nice to have you here.
No, no smoke shops for me. It's real easy to get your own UD entry, though.
I assumed you were Freddie Vegas as well.

It's probably safe to say that neither of us thought you were this Freddie Vegas...

I normally use more creative names online, examples: Mabius, Stevedave or Omoi. Wanted something more personal for this forum since I thought I would be sharing more real life things here so I chose something with my real name. Liked the sound of Greggors, so it stuck lol.

That's a cool motivation for your screen name.
Nice to have you here and welcome to the forums.
Mine came from the first spanking new Harley I bought in 2008.
The Crossbones Softtail. I first saw it and had to have it.
Jeff
Welcome Jeff!! Glad to see you here.
And welcome to you also, Greggors!!
my nickname was bjeorn the bear (from the book the hobbit) but unfortunately bear has seemed to become a slang word for a large hairy homosexual here in the uk . so know its just bjeorn it fits me better when i have my beard lol the nickname not the slang word before you ask.
Sounds like a "grizzly" situation .
Bump for the new guys!
I'm not creative. bhp = Browning Hi-Power. The first handgun my father ever trained me on. I was 7 years old. Drew = I'm Drew.

Mines just my middle name. Not much but I guess I am kinda proud of it.
It's been almost every generation of my family since the 1500's and the Isle of Skye. More recently it was used to name a county in Texas,..my great great grand-uncle was Collin McKinney of McKinney Tx.
Not as cool as some of the others here for sure, but it works.
Just a simple amalgam of parts of my names.
Phil, I must say, I love your avatar. It's so ridiculous looking. The cross-eyed looking dude with a fur hat is an instant classic in my mind.
When I was young I was a rebel. Never grew out of it and now I am OleRebel. Somedays....
In the late 80's to early 90's I had a "GIOS Professional" one of my Italian bikes that I raced professionaly during my early career as a cyclist, it was the bike i had more luck, winnings and memories with. my wife use to call my bike my second wife "Misses Giospro" cause i spent more time with my bike then with her which she under stood, it was my job. That's how i got the name Giospro.
My first job after leaving the Marine Corps was as a test engineer at an aerospace company. Part of the job was to write and perform test procedures - but only the union techs could actually touch the equipment. So when I went out to the equipment with my first procedure and test team, I gave them my very best impression of a first lieutenant, telling them all about how I expected superior performance and no dilly dallying about from them.
When I got all done talking, the techs sort of mumbled to themselves for a moment, then the oldest technician stepped forward and thanked me for my speech. He said they had all been wondering what the were going to call me, and had decided that I would be known as Dilly Dally Dan. The moniker has stuck with me for over 30 years.
i play a lot of video games. hellar is the name i used for my character and ive stuck with it over the years.

Allbright and is short for my name which is William Allbright. Simple and easy to remember and it is the one I use on every pipe forum for the most part.
HiloJohnny is an easy one.....I am John and I live in Hilo, Hawaii.
Oppie. After my Idol. J. Robert Oppenheimer
My name is Charles Funn. many of my friends in college who called me Funn thought that was a nickname, many of them had nicknames,Roach,Squirrel, etc.
I had to show my driver's license many times at registration.
I spent 28 years as a police officer. I was a range instructor also so I got the nickname Gunner and it stuck:-)
I was curious about that Gunner777.
Thanks.

Oldmaus was a name my father thought up. When he passed 10 years ago
I took it for my internet activities in his honor. Plus I am now the patriarch
of the family so it fits.
The thing that brought me back to my pipes is that one of my "bucket list" dreams was to sit on a scrub island all alone while enjoying a bowl of tobacco. After a 30 year hiatus from my pipes, at 60, it all came true.
I live in California and I'm a guy. Or so I'm told.
It was my middle name, now it's m' first!
"It was my middle name, now it's m' first! " I'm soooooooooooooo confused!
My screen name is straight forward my first name (there is a hell of a story behind that, and no I am not Russian) and the year of my birth.
My Avatar is symple I have been a Scherlock Holmes fan since I can remember.
Yuri
My screen name came from the tendency for me to disappear to the computer room for lenghty periods of time. My wife would often find me "resting my eyes" from too much screen staring. Hence the joke became Jack Clark's Naps, jcsnaps. The avatar are some of my favorite things nice freehand Danish pipes, and nice Danish pastry.
my mom is from belfast (ulster) and my granda (her dad) always called me paddy (boy) and never called me by my first name.
I knew a woman that used the screen name Midnitecowgirl which gave some inspiration, I have worked for Ryder Truck Rental since 82 and then remembered hearing the song by the Allman Bros Midniteryder. I have also had a vanity plate Ezrydr which was pretty cool
