My Smoker’s Haven EM arrived. Thankfully I was able to get in on the pre-sale a few months ago. I would say that it is perfect timing because Balkans have earned their way into nearly 50% of my rotation these days. I really enjoy Balkan Sobranie so I’m hoping that means I’ll enjoy this. I have not tried it yet. For those who have tried it, is it the same as Balkan Sobranie, similar, or nothing like it? I’m going to let it relax for a while before cracking it so I won’t get to do a comparison just yet.

I’m expecting it to be more along the lines of Margate since it sounds like it’s on the milder side of “Balkans”.

It's nothing like Margate, nowhere near the latakia imho.
It's more like King Charles, lots of yummy turkish and sweet virginia, a little lat on top. Spicy goodness, not campfire.

As I recall, it was supposed to be their take on 759. Having smoked 758 I can say that it's not the same thing by a long shot. Fortunately it['s also noting like the current incarnation of Balkan Sobranie, a blend which I find utterly vile.
It is, on its own merits, a terrific savory sweet blend.
