Hello Smokers,
In my previous post, I've said that it is difficult to find pipes in New Zealand. I guess I just haven't been looking hard enough. Here are the pipes I found on a NZ auction site.
Peterson De luxe Made in England

The band says sterling silver but I see no hallmark. Any expert knows the age?
Loewe & Co.

Hallmarks are present on both pipes but I'm no expert so give me some time to figure it out. I don't think they are that old but still a rare find.
All three pipes are in excellent condition, just need a bit of cleaning.
EDIT:

The hallmarks on both pipes are the same. The non-stylised "P" suggests that they are stamped in 1950, so middle Haymarket era. The order of the marks is what's strange to me. Here is the best shot I got.

I thought the standard lion mark should be on the left and I have no idea what the "shield" on the right means. Now I'm a bit worried.
By the way, the larger pipe is stamped Pastime on the bottom of the shank. The smaller is stamped Brazilian.

Great finds. The Loewe pipes in particular are interesting. The history of that marque is fascinating. If those are true Haymarket pipes the they are really special. here's a link for your reference.

Spectacular finds there Allenz !
No worries for you mate, do not fret!
Congrats and enjoy them well!
I notice the Pete seems to be stamped as Made in England? Perhaps a resident expert could pinpoint the timeframe and the silver hallmarks should too...
...but man oh man, that Loewe cased set is a jawdropper and a fine thing to have, I'm no expert and don't own any, so I ain't of much use but to say you're a lucky gent and I'd love to experience the loveliness of such fine old briar like that...
...both those pipes are listed in the 1937 catalog,

the Brazilian, here:

and the Pastime, here:

Just by looking at the catalog images we can see that your assay marks are proper, and in that particular sequence, but I also found an old auction describing a 1919 Loewe which said -- 3 Hallmarks on the silver band, (The first mark is the 1919 (English letter- d).

The second is the (Lion's passant)

and the third is the London Town mark (Cat/Lion face)

So that confirms it.

The leopard head London town mark is probably worn down and explaind why it more resembles a shield rather than a cat, here's a great page to look and they have examples of the leopard head that look like shields too...

Anyway, fine pipes ya got there!

Thanks! I've been extremely fortunate to find these.
misterlowercase - Yes, the Peterson is made in England. I think you are right, after closer inspection of the hallmarks, the "shield" actually has two more pointy bits that resemble the whiskers of the leopard. That catalogue is a great find too; the hallmarks definitely resembles that of on my pipes, including the "DF" maker mark(?). Thanks again!

nsfisher- Those are beautiful pipes. The grains are much visible with the lighter stain and for $30 it's a steal. I spend slightly more than that but the Peterson was pretty much gifted to me(same seller).

Congratulations on your finds - all good looking pipes!

My parents spent 6 months in Christchurch several years ago, and loved it. Absolutely beautiful country.
