I'm probably going to order some of this soon (along with Lane 1Q and maybe a couple of Samuel Gawith choices).

    The short description goes:

    Margate

A classic English Mixture of Oriental tobacco and copious quantities of Cyprian Latakia. Rich and full-bodied, this well-balanced mixture is most satisfying after a good meal.

Since it seems everyone's first choice from Esoterica is Penzance, I'd be interested to hear some 2ND choices from Esoterica.

"Under all speech that is good for anything, there lies a silence that is better. Silence is deep as eternity; speech is shallow as time."

I'm gonna take a guess and say that Penzance is probably a lot of people's 2nd choice and Stonehaven is the first. I haven't been able to find any since I started smoking so I can't speak from personal experience

No, my name is spelled 'Luxury Yacht' but it's actually pronounced 'Throatwobbler Mangrove'.

Margate is a good one! Another would be Pembroke, it is Margate with a Cognac topping, very good!!

Margate's some darn good stuff, especially with a few years under the tin! I'd liken it to an after-dinner cordial.

    "And So to Bed"

And I concur, its a very good blend. I was just about to smoke a bowl of it an hour ago but Penzance won out!

    "And So to Bed" [:D]

My bad. I am out at the moment and at times I add more words to things.

Margate was one of the first English tobaccos that I ever smoked and it has had a place in my rotation since. Dorchester is a perique lovers dream, Tilbury is a nice spicey Virginia, Dunbar is a good deep earthy Virginia, and And So To Bed is...well I have a love hate relationship with And So To Bed. I do like it, but I wish they would drop the rum or whatever topping is used to cure the tobacco. I also find that they use a lot of pg in their tobaccos or some sort of humectant. I usually take a bowl out and spread it on a piece of paper for a few hours of drying time before loading the pipe. I have yet to try Stonehaven, but the reviews have me on the hunt.

They are all good. The only turd in the Esoterica range of offerings is St. Ives. It used to be great but they changed it.
