Hopefully this will make sense to you.
What produces that lovely "tingle" in the nose of some tobaccos? I understand perique is one reason and really enjoyed it smoking Beacon Extra, but I also noticed it when I smoked Dunhill Flake (which I don't think contains any perique) and I really felt it when I smoked Condor and St. Bruno (which also don't contain perique). Is it nicotine? Or is it the Virginias?
I just finished up trying McClelland's Samovar--really really liked the taste, but on the retrohale I found myself wanting that slight tingle which unfortunately it lacked. I'll certainly keep smoking it for the amazing flavor, but if it had that slight tingle it'd be over the top--perhaps I could mix it with some perique? TR says it has oriental, latakia, and Virginias and lists them in that order. Perhaps VA forward blends are what I'm looking for--do burleys also produce a bit of a tingle?
