Early Bird Club

The Midnight Club seems to be a pretty active thread so seems only right to get something going for all of the early birds who get going before the sun shines. Though the forum seems pretty slow in the morning I know you guys are out there because I do battle with you all in traffic around 5:30 AM every morning. I am the guy in the tan Jeep doing 80 MPH with the widows cracked just enough to try and keep from burning holes in my clothes. It was Blue Mountain this morning and I have all day to decide on my evening smoke. I am thinking about cracking open a tin of Nightcap and seeing how she burns but that is subject to change...
-
Good morning to you early bird! 6:30am here.
-
It's 9:20 AM now, but I'm usually online much earlier; and I noticed several others coming online then too.
Maybe this thread will gain some traction in the coming days. Have fun at work, all! I'm retired.

Retired and get up early? I guess it is hard to kick that learned slave mentality...
Kidding. I envy those who can sleep in, but just not in my cards.
-
I'm usually up at five, so i don't know how i missed yall this this morning. looking forward to seeing you tomorrow
-
I'm retired and after decades of "zero-dark-thirty" wake ups, I now get up when I damn well feel like it -- it's mid-morning, unless I have a rare early appointment or commitment that I couldn't reschedule to a "decent" hour.
-
I retired 5 years ago and get up between 5:30 and 6:00 AM every day. I like being out there to wave good morning to all the working stiffs heading off to the office. It's the 2:00 PM nap that makes the difference.
-
im usually up around 5:15 AST but dont have my first bowlful til after i get the fire lit at work, then its relaxing time (til the boss shows up anyway haha)
-
I'm up at 6-6:30 every morning and have a pipe on the drive to work.
I can say hi before I leave!
Early morning pipe and a coffee is my new favorite breakfast.
-
Haha, I'm up SO early that sometimes I get credit on the after midnight post. Coffee pot brews at 0320 and I can count on one hand how many times I slept in until the alarm (0415) this calendar year! I would LOVE to be able to sleep in!

Good morning

Morning guys; looks like I'll be staying home today. My son is running a fever of 102.7.
-
A bowl of Penzance in the meer pirate this morning on the way to work and I am ready to buckle my swash!
-
Sorry to hear grizzly, and am I stil an early bird if I havn't gone to be yet? 6:20 am here
-
Morning! I'm usually awake early, but don't check mail and the forum until after June is up
and we have our morning coffee/visit. Then I go out front with the pups while she's getting
ready for work, then lite my first bowl. I smoke inside, but not first thing in the morning....
Have a Good Day Guys!

I don't know what time it is in Denmark but I received an email at 3:23 AM from Tom Eltang. He confirmed that he did indeed make my Stanwell 126. That is great news and probably as close as I will ever get to owning an Eltang! Such a nice guy he is and what a great smoking pipe he made.

Metarzan you have a meer pirate. id love to see it. I love the off the wall meer shapes

Here is a thread where I posted a pic of the 'lil guy. Scroll down and I used the pirate to show the scale of the other meer I picked up. The pirate hangs well and is the perfect size for a hands free smoke on the commute.

So are you really a boat builder? I have "almost" begun a stitch and glue project many times. Even bought plans from Bateau. I go through phases but I have been all over the boat building forums for years...

im a ship yard worker, with many hobbies. I've done a few dingies, and perows. Id like to go bigger but it takes space and money. I've spent most of the last four years laid off more than working, i do go back to work in jan. as a perminant fed. employee. So hopefully ill have the money to build more soon. I also make wine and brew beer. pipes have reciently poped to the front of my work bench, trying to restore some of my dads old pipes. Im getting excited about tobaccos and learning about them. when your not working it gives you alot of time to tinker lol.
-
Good Morning All and happy friday. Little guy is packed for school and we're just about to start the day rolling.
-
-
Buenas Viernes! My last name happens to be Friday... Yummy bowl of Nosferatu on the drive in.

Good morning all! Been at work now for over 2 hours - 500 lbs of crushed barley soaking in the mash tun and turning starches to sugars for a light ale. No pipe smoking this early for me, I'm afraid. Can't smoke indoors anywhere except at home and its pretty cold outside for relaxed smoking. I don't know how cigarette smokers do it.
Be careful what you wish for, as you just might get it.

I love the smell of homebrew in the morning... I pretty much gave it up though. My buddy still actively uses his 3 keg system each with pumps and burners and has been winning awards with his IPA. I have made everything from beer, wine, whiskey, rum and absinthe for years. My body just doesn't like alcohol these days so I pretty much gave it up. My pretty keg mounted column still is just collecting dust in the corner. Might come in handy for the apocalypse though...
-

-
Good Morning Fellas... I actually slept until 4:45 this morning, which is late for me. The pups were
ready to go when I came out front, they couldn't even wait until the coffee was ready.
-
Good morning all. Been up not nearly as long as most of you, about an hour, but am settling in for a bowl of PS Luxury Twist and my second cup of coffee. Day today will be filled with packing, shipping and then stitching up a holster.

It's an early day for me if I get out of the bed before noon. I friggin' hate mornings. Cheery, chirping birds and all that. It's overrated IMHO.
I'm so awesome, I make myself jealous of myself.
-
Good morning early birds, smoking Blue Mountain, in a smooth hungarian.

Morning all. Slept in a bit but the coffee is brewing, as are my thoughts on what to smoke. Seems like everything tastes great before the sun comes up!
-
Greetings! First off, you are all insane for being up this early! I am a verified second shift person, usually sleep until noon or so. But, had a rough night of sleep and decided rather than keep tossing and turning to get up and smoke a pipe, help the wife feed the dogs, etc. Smoking some St. James Flake in an ebony Peterson 03 while getting ready to drink some coffee.

Good Morning.

Nightcap in the morning sounds good to me. Never understood why the higher N makes one baccy a night smoke and the lower N for morning. Seems like higher N in the morning is the way to go... Also waiting on 2 TAD orders to stuff my stocking...
-
Good morning!

Morning all. 6:40 here, and about to hop in the shower and get ready for work. My vehicle has been having cold starting issues, so I'll be fighting with it in about an hour. Everyone have a good day!

I think egg nog smells great! Skip the cologne and Deodorant and just smoke that stuff!
-
Haha, cookies and egg nog sound like the way to go. Especially this time of year. I've yet to try Magnum Opus. I'm gonna have to remember to put that on the next order.

I was set to receive some Magnum Opus in a sampler but since it has been back ordered for so long I think P&C gave up on waiting and substituted Ceberus, which sounds great, but wanted to try Magnum Opus. Next order I guess...
