He more than likely cherished that pipe more than we could ever know.

Quite interesting to see how far back in history pipes go along with who they affected. It was not something that only those of wealth possessed; everyone could have one and smoke it even women.

Philip..... Thanx for link, that is an interesting slide show & history for clay pipes in the U.S. Now I guess I have to look into clay pipe smokin. Dragon, where have you found some.?? The bowls have to be scorchinly hot, no?
