I have been on the lookout for a nice birth year Dunny and recently someone offered me a 75 ODA. Somewhere else though, I read that ODA's were made again starting in 78. Should I be suspicious? I read through the pipedia page but did not see an answer to this particular question, my apologies if I missed it.

I wasn't aware they ever stopped making ODAs.
Just go on ebay under collectibles/tobacciana/pipes and query ODA under the "Sold Listings". If reputable sellers have sold them from that timeframe you are good to go!
I can't check ebay from my gov't computer or I would do it for you.
Good luck!

Good way to solve the issue wyfbane, thanks for the suggestion. There are indeed 75 ODA's from reputable sellers in the sold listings. I may have misunderstood the part about continued production in 78.

I knew they preceded 75 but from something I read, I thought perhaps they ceased production for a span. The pipe is not mine yet, I never count my chickens before they hatch. I will certainly give details should things work out in my favor.
