Looks like a nice classic calabash. But for me, that's a lot of coin to spend on an estate to be restored.

I notice that the seller appears to have never bought or sold anything on ebay, thus has not rating. That would concern me.

Looks like a "barn find" situation. It sat untouched in one of those wooden block calabash rests for a very long time.
Definitely the real thing. It says "Made in England", but that would be limited to slipping the silver over the godet. :lol: Andreas Bauer was the actual maker.
It's in great condition except for the massive color line/difference created from sitting in its rest, half in shade and half in sunlight for so long.
I'm no gourd expert, but I doubt that's reversible. (And staining the lighter half would NOT work the way most people would think... definitely not recommended.)
