Boy, you really can never go home again. DNF just sucks so badly its hard to believe this is what they were working on for the past 15 years. It's just so awful, you feel violated for spending even $10 on it like it did. I might never be clean....but I have to go shower now and try to wash the stink off me that was coming off my monitor for the last 30 minutes.

Duke Nukem, bleah! Monolith's BLOOD was where it's at! BLOOD2 notsomuch. I'd love to see a high-quality redux of Blood 1. If you download the original Blood from GOG.com there is a stage where you can repeatedly stab Duke Nukem's corpse with a pitchfork. good times!

Spent a lot of time on the original DN, and the expansion packs.

Same with Doom, and all the bootleg .wads.

Would enjoy playing Doom I and II again. I have the recent incarnation of Doom. it is good, but not great.

Serious Sam 3 was a bust as well . Best bang for the buck is Fallout New Vegas with all the expansion packs 200 plus hours of play .

The First Encounter Serious Sam was cool, though. I always loved that gun that fired the giant-ass cannonball.

    @hauntedmyst - Agreed, it wasn't a good video game.

I'm always amazed at how game developers manage to build a franchise only to muck it up. Splinter Cell was one of the most brilliant games ever and the first 3 on PC were amazing. Then comes Double Agent and its so buggy its unplayable. Mech Warrior 1 & 2, great. Mech 3, a turd. Call of Duty and Medal of Honor seem to be the only ones immune to not lemming themselves into oblivion. Even their bad releases are better than most others good releases.

Oh come now it wasn't really all that bad. It just wasn't any better than average. It was still duke just as he was with all his snappy one liners and the aliens stealing our women.
I blame 3D Realms for how lackluster it was and not Gearbox. All Gearbox did was take what they had and polish it up and put the finishing touches there. The really exciting bit about DNF is that it finally did come out...hah no just kidding. The really exciting bit is that now that a developer that has a good handle on what its doing and is capable of releasing current gen games has hands on the Duke we'll be able to see what they do together.

    P.S.
CoD has been going down the tubes since the third. The second was the last good one.

Wolfenstein has been good, I played the first one way back and then Return to Wolfenstein and the latest one which was also good though not as good as Return.

to veer the topic slightly ... I've thoroughly played Elder Scrolls: Skyrim and Modern Warfare 3, and they are both excellent.

Battlefield 3 is a strong contender against MW3, but MW3 is relatively clean, bug-free and polished by comparison.

    WoW for the win HAHAHAHA

For the wars of the gods for control of the earth began on their own planet. It was thus that mankinds first civilization succumbed to a nuclear holocaust. This is fact not fiction, and its all been written down a long time ago."

I'm finally getting around to playing Battlefield Bad Company 2. I enjoyed the first game quite a bit. I think I'll go pour myself a pint and fire it up for an hour or so before hitting the sack!

I put a goodly amount of hours in to WoW but I'm happy I quit. I quit because I wanted to spend time with more constructive hobbies that WoW was taking all my time away from. Ever since then I've vowed to not touch an MMO ever again.

I remember when I used to have a good time with Battlefield but that was in the 1942 days. I gave Bad Company 2 a chance but found that the community sucked pretty bad on the PC and was full of guys who'd rather lay there and look down their scope than contribute to the team. I'm also not fond at all of being raped so often. So naturally I'm pretty sure I wouldn't at all like the third.

Hah afraid rent is a no. I'm strictly a PC guy when it comes to FPS games. I just can't stand those damn sticks for aiming.

I tried the original battlefield and it was ok, it just didn't suck me in. I never played bf2, but the videos guy make and put on youtube can be a riot. I play WarCraft 1 and 2 and loved them both. WoW I never had an interest in. While WoW is undeniably successful, I don't understand why they didn't expand on the original genre.

Was anyone here a Tribes fan? It was brilliant online warfare FPS. That game sucked years of my life away.

As a young lad, that game was my life for a period of time. Boy, does that bring back some memories. Anyone here remember Quake 3 or Unreal Tournament? Both games came out right around the same time (1999 or so), and I played both of them to death.

Same. After 5 years I finally quit playing for good about 4 months ago. That was a hard habit (addiction?) to break. I'm currently in school and over time WoW after homework turned into WoW before and after homework, which then turned in to WoW instead of homework!

I finally had to stop as my grades were starting to slip. Hmmmmm what's more important? A degree or an imaginary fantasy character? Thats a tough one...
