Hi guys,

I'm working on putting together my first 7 day set of bulldogs and Rhodesian. I'm one pipe short and I can't seem to find one that really appeals to me and falls within my price range.

Then I realized I have my father's beautiful chubby. It's a Butz Choquin Sweet shape 1026.

Does it qualify as a Rhodesian?
Cheers,
J

Yup, I think that's what it is. I don't see any other possibility for that pipe.

Yes it is Voorhees! It is actually unsmoked and I like the feel of it a lot. Old BC's usually smoke very well, we'll see...

I also have one of his GBD's in my current rotation and smoking it brings back lots of good memories.

It certainly qualifies as a great looking pipe!
Enjoy those 7 days.

@Woodsroad, in any case it is my late father's chubby, which sounds even worse if that's posible.
@Dave g, Hahhahahha.

Now I feel like an ass for cracking jokes without reading the post.
In all seriousness, that is a good looking pipe. I know how special it is to have a close family members collection of pipes.

Dave, please don't worry! I don't mind at all. That's why I answered with a joke too.

My dad loved a good joke and he is probably laughing his ass off wherever he is (probably in pipe smoker's hell, where he is allowed two bowls a day but the only blend available is a cherry aro)
Cheers,
J

I'd say that's a sweet pipe to finish off the seven day set. Very nice indeed. :puffy:

In MY humble opinion it is a Rhodesian.

Similar to a 1/4 bulldog but with round shank and therefor rounded bottom bowl.

The heft and thickness, almost or just as the Author shape but different because of the grooves.

Not sure about tapered vs saddle in the equation.

A terrific looking pipe and sure to be a favored smoker.
