To me there is nothing like a good cup of java to drink while smoking my pipe. Anyone do the same? What do you drink, if anything?

Coke Vamilla Zero is a go to. Water is good, as is English tea with milk and lightly sweetened.

I find that sipping Coke while smoking helps neutralize the ashy taste on the tongue. If it's the right time of day that Coke may have a splash of rum in it.

Depending on my mood either a coffee or a chai latte. Alcohol and my pipe don't mix I just can't do both together but then I am not a big drinker

Coffee in the morning, water until night, Brandy at night. I particularly enjoy my nightly glass(or 2) of brandy, with my pipe, just to cleanse the palate.

I generally have a coffee or a Coke with mine. Tried it with a bit of Laphroaig the other day. Sadly, the smoke from the pipe completely overpowered the peat in the whisky. I'm broke enough that I can't afford to waste $50-a-bottle stuff like that (I bought it for the taste, dagnabbit), so those are two pleasures I won't try to combine again.
