No pipes for Christmas this year. Trying to downsize.
BUT, the wife got me 4oz each of Just For Him's Christmas 2011 blend and Shortcut to Mushrooms.

I got to smoke the Christmas blend, the Shortcut, and some Stonehaven while finishing the latest Game of Thrones book: A Dance With Dragons. It was the best afternoon I've had in weeks.

    How was yours?

I smoked some Jackknife ready rubbed while talking to some friends. The last 6 or so chapters I remember being, by far, the best part of that book (I read it pretty quickly after it came out so it's been a little while). So it sounds like you had quite a good time

No, my name is spelled 'Luxury Yacht' but it's actually pronounced 'Throatwobbler Mangrove'.

Yep, definitely enjoyed a few bowls yesterday and last night. I finished another this morning. PA, First Responders, a couple of the SS tobaccos I received, a mocha blend and a latakia/balkan blend.

I certainly did. Had Christmas dinner with my dad's side of family and smoked some Amphora full aroma that I got (the thought does count) and later some Presbyterian. A pretty fine Christmas day.

Just finished a bowl of 7 Seas Gold in one of my cobs, out in the garage. Santa brought me a new Boswell, but I'm saving the first smoke for tomorrow when I get to my local B&M. I don't want to start breaking in the new pipe in the garage, but rather in a nice, warm lounge while seated in an overstuffed leather couch...maybe with a glass of Strega to round out the experience.

Smoked several bowls today. A little sad though as I was hoping my latest TAD order was in as I have some Va, Va/Pers that I want to try. Instead they are sitting at the post office until wednesday. So today, pipe-wise, was a day like every other.

Not too much with all of the activity...but NOW, my wife is allowing me a gracious Christmas smoke right here on the couch in my living room. I'm smoking one of my new tins I got today from her, 7 seas black. Yummy.

Pretty hectic here, but I stopped here between shuttling parents between relatives. This stream and bridge looked pretty inviting, so I stopped for 15 minutes and smoked my new Tinsky for the first time. I fished this stream nearly 40 years ago as a boy and caught some fine brownies at this spot. (Little Antietam Creek, near the MD/PA border)

Opened up the tin of Peterson holiday blend 2011. I smoke outside, but apparently it did waft in the house (no wonder with 20 family members running in and out). They all loved the smell. Taste: dang it's sweet. Fruitcakey, candied fruit like. At the end a little bitter, but good.. Like a candied lemon rind. Just lit up another bowl in a different pipe. It's interesting that the taste is less sweet or prominent now. It's festive in any case

"The fact is, squire, the moment a man takes to a pipe, he becomes a philosopher. It's the poor man's friend; it calms the mind, soothes the temper, and makes a man patient under difficulties. It has made more good men, good husbands, kind masters, indulgent fathers, than any other blessed thing on this universal earth."

No unfortunately I did not. All my family and everyone here and I do not smoke in the house. I smoke in my shop. My dad did get me a bottle of Harvey Bristol Creme. Didn't have that for a while. Can't wait to light up and sip a little of that.

Yep smoked my new christmas pipe, beautiful thompson. Its cold outside, and my fam lives in the country, so i stood outside and smoked and looked at the abundance of stars. I could even see the milkyway, you dont get that in the city.

I know what I need, smoke, I can't recall the last time I tasted it....Gandalf in the mines of Moria.

"we shall have to share pipes, as good friends must at a pinch'....'I keep a treasure or two near my skin, as precious as rings to me. Here's one: my old wooden pipe. And here's another an unused one...He held up a small pipe with a wide flattened bowl, and handed it to Gimli. 'Does that settle the score between us', said Merry. 'Most noble hobbit, it leaves me deep in your debt."
