Looks like Davidoff has owned the De LA Concha store since 2006.

But who owns the Davidoff brand?

Their tobaccos are produced by STG, I believe.

Well at least it isn't going to be a Starbuck's.
There's already one next door. :)
In the 1980s the B line subway entrance was right in front of their door and they had a huge walking traffic.
I spent a lot of time in De La Concha with Lionel Melendi and his staff and have fond memories of them and the store. I hope that Lionel and his family are doing well.

I don't like the sound of this. I like that store. When I travel to NY I always stay close buy and drop in on every visit. I hope they don't ruin it. I hate change.

Bummer. I was recently in there and they had mentioned they were closing for remodeling but nothing about this, now I wish I had snagged the Radice I had been eyeballing.

A couple of months ago it was still operating as De La Concha, including an amazing selection of pipe tobaccos. I picked up some Frog Morton, Frog Morton On The Bayou, Frog Morton Across The Pond and C&D Bayou Morning Flake. I'm currently smoking through the very Ketchuppy tin of FMOTB.
