Does anyone know the method of dating Ashton pipe tobacco. I've run into a dead end trying to find a method online. Thanks.

Well, it helps if you know someone that can make the introduction, but I've had a lot of success just being friendly and offering a nice evening out on the deck with a couple of beers.

I do not know how to find the manufacturing date of a tin of Ashton. I bet Pipestud could guide your way.

Well, it's really not too difficult for most of them. The original Ashton blends and the McClelland's revival Ashton blends all have the date stamped on the bottom of the tins. The last two digits are the year of make. As an example, if you see a series of numbers ending in "01," then that means the tin was made in 2001.
