I've had this little estate Peterson billiard for several years now, and it's been an ok if not excellent smoker. It can tend to get a little hot though, probably because of its thin walls and overall diminutive size (as well as some operator error by yours truly).
A couple days ago, I noticed a very unsettling black spot on the side of the bowl. Is this the beginning of a burnout? Did I smoke it too hot? I've poked around with a pipe cleaner and I don't feel any pits or depressions on the inside of the bowl.
It just strikes me as odd that this would happen now, when I'm a relatively experienced smoker, vs. my early days when I literally always smoked super hot.

Not that I can tell. I've got some coffee grounds in the bowl right now, but I'll give it a smoke tomorrow and find out. I don't feel like there's anything wrong with it, but I can't think of another reason for the discoloration.
