Earlier today I was sitting in my sofa with some 6000, 8000 and 12000 grit micromesh pads and a stem I was nearly finished with. My almost-2yo girl came into the living room after her nap and promptly relieved me of my things, then she toddled off to the kitchen following her mother (who's never been a fan of my hobby). The following conversation ensued.
- "Edwin! Really?"
- "What?"
- "Your daughter. She has your things."
- "What"s she doing?"
- "The same thing you were doing!"
- "She's polishing the stem?"
- "Yes. You need to do something about it."
- "Ok. Clara, dear, make sure you're using the purple pad first."
I got an angry stare back, but I've been chuckling since.
