If the logo on the stem is a crowned S, then it's almost certainly a Stanwell.

Which model I couldn't say. Supposedly they've been around since 1942, so the

number of different models could be high. Currently they make 115,000 pipes a year.

the stanwell logo is there. i could see it on the enlarged pics on ebay.

was really looking for some more beater-knocker pipes when i came across this one.

just hope it doesnt smell like ty-d-bowl

would like to know if anybody recognises the model and a ballpark cost when it was new.

1-q and ty-d-bowl, just my luck...

I agree... looks like a Stanwell, not sure about the model though.... Nice pipe!

Looks like a nice shape, no clue about the model. I'd call it a bent acorn, looks super comfortable for clenching.

I'd say if you got it for $50 or less, its a deal.

If you paid more for it, you're probably fine too.

Unless the dark color around the top of the bowl is from a barroom toilet..... better clean it good, just in case !

Yep, it's a Stanwell and appears it may be a bit older. How old, I'm not sure. Do a good alcohol cleanup and you should have a very good smoking pipe.
