Ha! You know that's right. I'm glad to see warmer weather, maybe work will pick up.

From "Polyunsaturated Mad", (The battle hymns of the public dept.)

"Fight Songs for the Common Man"

(Playing the game of everyday life.)
The Week-End Gardeners' Hymn

To the tune of "From the Halls of Montezuma"
From the ants in our petunia bed,

To the crabgrass on our lawn-

We will fight them off with chem-i-cals,

Till the bugs and weeds are gone;

We'll use quarts and quarts of poison spray,

And we won't stop till we're through;

All the bugs and weeds are dying now,

But the plants and trees are, too!

Ah, spring and yard work. Ah, pipes in spring and pipes during yard work. Can’t wait for the first mow of the season, nothing better than driving around the rider with a pipe.

We already had a little spinner here last week.

But, those folks up the eastern seaboard are catching it tonight.
We got 6" in about 4 hours last week. I guess it's their turn.

My car is supposed to be black, now its yellow.

I was lucky I was at home.

If I had gone to the store, I wouldn't have recognized it in the lot and would have had to walk home.

It's worse than that now.

Yesterday I spent 8 F'ing hours outside doing yard work. Mowing, raking, cleaning up trash (obviously people think my yard is the neighborhood trash can), cleaning up tree branches, cutting down 3 trees (with a saw the size of a chef's knife), etc.
It was 90 degrees and I felt like I was going to die when I got done.

Here is an old poem from "Wiley" from the old BC comics.
Tis the time of the year,

When they cry and they shout,

Give us a run!

And, Throw the bum out!

The knuckler, the curve, the play at the plate,

Give all of the fans the incentive to hate.

Yes, yard work and pollen rank up there with the the downsides of Spring. But I'll still take them both over Winter any day.

So far the worst thing has been the wind. I saw a chicken lay the same egg four times the other day. She finally turned around to face the wind and was OK.
