I haven't had much time for pipe work lately, but managed to get two old Comoy's completed this weekend. The first was this 409 Golden Grain bulldog. It was a fairly simple job and it's in great shape.

Great job as always Al. I am curious though, have you ever tried to restore a pipe and it just didn't turn out? I mean, you probably only would lost the successes, but there must have been some stinkers right?

@mikethompson. I have definitely had failures but they have been minimal. I guess that I've improved my skill level at assessing a pipe from the web. If it looks risky, I make sure that the seller takes returns. If not, I usually pass.
This Peterson Sterling 999 that sold yesterday looked risky to me, so I passed.
