All,

I am new to pipes, both smoking and restoration and have just acquired a Comoy's 366 which as far as I can tell is a Liverpool? Few things I could really use some help with. First, it doesn't have a stem so can I buy new stem? Second, how old is this pipe and how can I find out?
Thanks for any help y'all can lend.

Pipedia is usually a good place to start, including some of the links therein.

Welcome to the forums finnian3. There are a number of places on line that sell stems. In fact, you'll find the sellection overwhelming.

There are a number of places where you can have a stem fitted to your pipe.
Walker Pipe Repair is very popular. You can have either a pre-molded or hand carved stem made:

Tim West also makes excellent handmade stems, probably the best professional repairman working today:

Last but certainly not least Is Ronnie Bikacsan at Night Owl Pipeworks, an incredible craftsman:

That straight Comoy's and the COM stamp would indicated it was made before the merger in 1982. The stem would seal the deal, but that's a pretty good guess.

Sadly no stem. I doubt I can find an exact match replacement stem, but sablebrush gave me a few links to start with. I wanted to let you know Al that I used some of your methods from restoring your Kaywoody to do some restore work of my own, especially with pulling the threads for a stinger.
