What would you recommend for cleaning the tarnish off nickel/silver pipe bands, preferably safely without removing too much metal? Is there such a cleaner? I've got a half dozen pipes, primarily my Irish Harps, in sore need of cleaning. Thanks.

Fine ash from cigs, cigars, and pipes will remove tarnish. It doesn't give it a mirror finish but it will shine it up a bit and preserve the hallmarks.
