I recently purchased another lot of pipes on eBay, as the price was right, and I noticed a few promising items. When they arrived they were covered in grime, schmutz, oxidized, thick cake etc.
70% were able to be refurbished, and there's still one that I'm debating whether or not to put the effort into. The Peterson did not have a stem, but I recently had a new stem made for a Peterson that I had broken years ago, and did a repair to that was slightly off center (drilled out and cleaned up, epoxied the tenon back in). It's slightly off center still, but the pipemaker I go to cut the tenon back so it would fit in the pipe.

So far I've smoked the Poul Hansen, Mastercraft, and the Moulin Rouge. They all smoke pretty good.
