I was at an antique and collectors fair today, on one stall i found 5 or 6 what looked to be brand new long clay pipes, iv only ever seen bits of clay pipes which my grandfather dug up in his veggy garden when i was a kid,I nearly purchased one out of curiosity really but got distracted on another stall and forgot to go back! any of you guys smoke them? how do they compare with your standard pipes? are there different styles as the ones i saw were all exactly the same, where can you buy them from?

Lol, and above all else don't try to handle the bowl when it is

fired up like a briar, unless you like third degree burns (made that mistake....once ;-)
Speaking of clays...I'm smoking a Dutch Gouda style from PennValley

right now, has become one of my " go to pipes "...having some of P&C's

Lakeland brickle fortissimo....WOW this blend is "tops" if you like

Lakeland essence with a twist ;-) bit be careful she will ghost a briar,

but I'n a clay...no worries

I like clay pipes very much they are cool dry smoke and they colour but they dont like a microwave or a bonfire to clean them. Ruined 2 of my fav clays that way still smokeable but they are missing large chunks of clay. They split off with the moisture/tar expanding . My next one will be cleaned with a blow torch
