I was hoping someone could help me identify what kind of pipe this is. This pipe was given to me by a coworker friend of mine. The only lettering on it is on the band which says "Made in England". You can clearly see in the pics that there is a seam that bisects the entire bowl. Any thoughts?

That would be my guess too, though it is unlike any other clay that I've seen before. It really is a great little smoker too.

My guess would for sure be clay. I've never seen meerschaum with a crease bisecting the pipe like that.

 TopD I knew someone would come up with something like that!

The color makes me want to say meer at first

thats a very meer looking clay

This is what had me guessing. Storient if you recreate this pipe please put up some pics when it's complete. I wouldn't have imagined that my post might inspire a Storient meer. :D
