Charatan's Make 232

One of my pipes that I've had since the 70's has interesting info stamped on the side a bit different from the usual: Charatan's Make, and below that it says London England, below that Schild&ZN, below that is stamped Amsterdam. To the right is stamped 232. If anybody has information on these markings, I'd appreciate hearing about it, especially the part about Charatans being made in Amsterdam. I assume that the Schild&ZN refers to the craftsman, but I'm not certain about it. At any rate, if anyone can contribute information, I'd appreciate it.

The pipe was made in London England but the other stamping is from the pipe shop/retailer that sold the pipe.
