hiya theres a 50 yr old unopened tin of capstan come up onb the local trade site.
The question i have is? Are these still smokable? or would i be buying a bit a history to keep.

Should be still smokeable. It'll definitely taste much different than it did 50 years ago.

Why buy a tin 50 years old when I believe it's available in Europe? I know how tasty aged Virginia can be but I'd opt out on that one unless you want an old tin to hold your matches.

What's the price? Sometimes things change. From what I've read, most of the original Capstan facilities have been closed over the past few decades. So if there is a 50 year old tin it could be different from today's offerings.
If the price isn't too outlandish it would be fun comapring old to new.
