Forums members are always pairing particular pipes with particular blends. It's hard to beat the

Chacom zulu for Va/Per flake -- right now, I'm smoking Peter Stokkebye's Luxury Navy Flake.

I notice smokingpipes.com has the Chacom zulu available, but they are likely not the only ones.

It's a modestly priced pipe that does the Va/Per flake especially well, to my mind. Just thought I'd

pass it along.

If you're referring to the Maya Zulu then you must have gotten the last one at SP. They do have an Elite Noir Zulu shape but it's a considerably smaller pipe. P&C does have a Maya Zulu in stock though, as does Pipes2smoke. It certainly is a striking design.

Here's a link to the one on smokingpipes.com. There used to be two of these, the same pipe.

Mine is a blast with a reddish stain, but the same shape and size.

I just bought this Chacom Elite zulu in the smooth wood finish and love the pipe. It is a somewhat small pipe, but the lightweight feel of it is fabulous. Matter of fact, I planned on smoking it this evening.

The zulu just picks up the brightness of Va/Per flake, and the flake burns for a long time, and even this thin-walled pipe,

with this tobacco, doesn't seem to overheat -- it gets hot, but not too hot to handle. It really delivers the flavor. The flake

goes great in other pipes, but may not rise to quite this perfection. It surprised me, so I thought I'd pass it along. That's

a beautiful Rattray. I also have Savenelli and Chapuis-Comoy zulus that also favor Va/Per flake.

I find it hard to best a Peterson Zulu (268).
Perfect shape and always spot on drilling.
