i bought a dozen mason jelly jars and i picked up a half pound of bulk baacy and i stuffed it into just 2 jars

and it is pretty darn tight in there and i was wondering if i should be storing it looser

Hey Pawpaw,
It is generally considered best to only pack each to a natural quantity in each jar.

If you want it to age, the "baccy" will need to have air to do so.
However; I used to pack my 1Q in to bail top jars very tightly. I no longer do so.
Others can probably give you some pointers on cellaring.

I have a bad habit of making tobacco fit what I have handy to put it in. I should be leaving a bit of headspace in my jars.

8 oz I normally use 3 half pint jelly jars...Unless its penzance,then only 2
