So I bought a very interesting estate piece just the other day. Its a slightly bent cauldron shape. That can't be the proper name for it, because I can't find any info on "cauldron" shape pipes. So what is the proper label for such a shape? It also has "Duke" stamped on the bottom...
Any help would be much appreciated.

There is one shape that comes to mind... That's a "pot".

If I remember right it is a squat roundish bowl with a large bowl, sometimes it has a lip around the bowl.

I would call that a honey pot...but there are so many unfortunate images associated with that description.

I like it!

I have what I finally decided is a calabash shape, an old Hilson "Maestro" 271. Mattia just sold its' twin a day or so back.

When I got mine from my father I spent a good bit of time looking at shape charts trying to determine what it might be considered. I did come across one chart that showed a cauldron shape, can't find it now, but what you have is just that, a cauldron.
Or... not a Honey Pot or a Wonkey Poker but a p'raps a Wonkey Pot! (-:

Looks like a Cauldron and I initially thought it might be a Charatan shape, but my usual sources weren't helpful. In any event, I like it.
