Well, I've gone and done it again. Should be here on Friday and I have that day off so I'll have a few solid days to settle in with it. It's an estate Collection 3k.

Sweet, took me a long time to get a Castello with a white bar (made for the European market) those destined for US sales sported the foil dot but both smoke very well! Enjoy.....

Well that is weird. I swore I replied to this thread already but my response isn't here.
Great bulldog. Is the shank treatment briar?
Nice grain on that one.

Yes, it is a briar shank treatment, and I'm quite looking forward to it!
banjo, the foil dot was used primarily Back In The Day to separate US from EU-bound pipes but now the vast majority have the white bar. They do still use the dot on new pipes rather irregularly, supposedly to reinforce a trademark.

That's a fine estate. There's something about Castello that hits notes of both simplicity and sophistication. I think their briar air cures for about 30 years, which is not bad;). Definitely worth the price.

One handsome dog. Castellos really bring a shape together with an subtle but powerful eye.

The way they did the bar logo across the briar band and stem is very cool. Nice grab.
