Hello to all, long time pipe smoker and recent lurker here.
I have been hunting for a Castello 55 and I came across something I find interesting. On all the US sites the 55 has a very pronounced chin. On the one Italian site, "FLoppys" it seems to have a much softer chin. All things being equal that is something I would prefer. Am I imagining this? Can anyone help out?

I don't know enough about Castello's to answer your question, but for some interesting variations on shape 55, if you have not seen this,

If you want the Italianate version, I suspect our sponsor Al Pascia, one of our sponsor retail online sites, would carry it. Haven't researched this, but think it's likely.

Al Pascia is a great vendor, but they don't carry Castello.
Neat Pipes, also a terrific vendor, does. They have a beautiful Castello Castello 55 on their page now, with a white stem and at a very nice price.

An excellent US vendor is Joel S at The Briar Pipe. He usually has a nice selection of Castellos.

Mike Glukler also seems to have a direct line to the factory and is able to secure some interesting pieces for Castello collectors.

This estate 55 from Neat Pipes (they have several estate 55's) looks like a real winner!

A distinctive shape. Very interesting to look at not only this shape but Castello pipes in general.

Here's one I found on ebay.
