Was just thinking about old or inside and wondering if the blend has changed when Dan Tobacco took it over. Its been so many years since I smoked it I would not be able to give a true impression if I bought a new tin.

I haven´t smoked the CAO version but I like Old Ironsides from DAN Tobacco even better than their Holly´s Discovery and Germain´s Special Latakia Flake.

Unfortunately I cannot offer a comparison between the two manufacturers. But if I was in your position, I would ask myself if I liked the Dan Tobacco rendition. If the answer was yes, then it wouldn't matter if it was the same as when CAO blended it.

I was under the impression that it was always a Dan tobacco product made under the CAO name and at the time they wanted to get out of the pipe tobacco side, so it was always the same just with CAO's name removed. They even kept the same pictures on the label. I have a CAO midnight ride that I can check the label when I get home but I think it says blended by Dan.
