No help here, but I had a bowl the other night and it was delicious. You reminded me to grab a few more tins.
Good luck!

Those Dan Tobacco blends are hard to tin date other than the changes in the tin top.
Here's some general dating info;
1. If the tin has the CAO import tag as part of the paper label, the tin was produced before CAO ended its association with the blend in 2002 or 2003 (not exactly sure which year). They began the American Heritage series which included Midnight Ride in 1996.
2. Dan Tobacco continued to make the American Heritage Series blends without CAO starting in about 2006-2008 (again, I am unsure of the years), so, there was a period of several years when Midnight Ride, Old Ironsides, Independence, etc, were discontinued before the resumption of production by Dan Tobacco.
3. Starting in 2012, the top paper labels were made smaller. It is an obvious difference in size.
Wish I had taken better notes on these blends but I hope this helps a little.

Looking forward to the new book,

Notes From The Pipe Stud.
Yes,

I would buy it!
A compilation of your baccy reviews along with information as given above,

and sprinkled with photographic highlights of the many wonderful old tins that've passed through your hands,

as well as your anecdotal stories that are always a pleasure to read.
