Hey, so I'm going to buy myself some new pipes, and I have been longing for a new bent, a churchwarden and a meer- lined. So I went on to The Danish Pipe Shop's website (low shipping cost since it's close to home) and browsed around for some that would fill this criteria, be affordabele yet still be good quality. So this is what I found:
Stanwell featherweight no 123 smooth

1346 White Star, Meerschaum Lined

Vauen, Churchwarden pipe, Black, 3672, Meerschaum Lined

If anyone have owned or smoked one or more of these pipes, please leave a review, mabye some opinions or other suggestions.
Thanks

I got my first stanwell back in 1969, and have added to the collection periodically since then, most recently taking advantage of a big sale, still going on, at pipesandcigars.com. They are now made in Italy rather than in Denmark, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Most importantly, the Danish Pipe Shop is a reputable dealer whom you can trust for good advice, and one of the sponsors of this site. I have a Featherweight, shape 243, as well as various others, and I'm very pleased with all of them. My most recent acquisition is a Brushed Black, shape 86, which I got just two weeks ago, and it too has proven to be a fine smoker.

I have a number of Stanwells and they're fantastic smokers - cool, clean, crisp and smart. All of them are Danish, except my straight featherweight which is newer and so made in Italy. I highly recommend them and think you'll be very pleased. I don't use filters so the draw is wider than it would otherwise be but that suits me. Good luck with your new pipes, whatever you go for.
