Good friend and outstanding pipe maker Jake Hackert deserves big thanks for getting me on the Night Train :worship:
It has found a way into my rotation, smoke in a Meer (3/4" chamber, larger chambers will give you too much flavor) as sometimes in a Briar it tends to taste too much of ash...SP.com has it for 16oz/$29.41

It's even better with a little age to it. I got 8 oz at one point thinking it was going to be similar to Three Friars, smoked it and wasn't impressed. Came back to it a few months later and the whole 8 oz was gone before I knew what happened. That reminds me, I should get some more.

I have to say I agree. I'm thinking of getting a big brick of it. It has a nice strength, and I find Night Train much more enjoyable than the three friars.

I buy several bricks at a time, then cut it into brownie-size

chunks and stack in jars. When ready for dry time I take

out a chunk and cut into thick sized flakes then do a cube

cut which helps to break apart and process the right amount

of rub for packing. I really enjoy his blend as I have said in

a Meer or clay bowl with a 3/4" chamber
I really enjoy the strength of this blend and it goes great with

a nice rich/black coffee in the AM to get my day going or with

a bourbon in the evening to calm things down from a crazy

day
