I am one, like many, but not all, who really appreciated the idea behind C&D's small batch concept. The news of the quality control issues surrounding the last blend cast a shadow over what I thought was a really innovative idea. That's too bad. Of the three small batch blends I was able to pick up some Straight Up English and some The Beast, but as luck would have it I exercised some restraint and actually passed on the Carolina Flake.
Well this morning I just smoked my last bowl of a tin of Straight Up English and I must say that this blend became my go-to morning smoke with coffee. For the last two weeks every morning I woke up early before work so that I might sit back and enjoy a bowl. I liked this blend from the start, but with each passing bowl it just kept growing on me. I still have several tins tucked away, but knowing this is a dead blend I might have to ration the remaining tins to stretch out my supply longer.
I just wanted to hat tip Mr. Jeremy Reeves for blending such a nice blend and hopefully in the future the special leaf that was used to make this will avail itself and perhaps a small batch brother will be born!
I'm off of work today, so I guess it's time to head out for another pipe!
