Odessa's sibling. Odessa is burley, oriental, latakia, and perique. Red Odessa is red Virignia instead of burley. Had been an Odessa smoker but since discovering Red Odessa, it has become my favorite blend, Like Odessa it is a balanced blend and it is sublime. I say this as someone who has not tended to like red Virginias in the past.

It's even better with some age, really brings things together and softens some rough edges. I can't think of any C&D blends I've tried, actually, that didn't benefit from even 6 months in the mason jar.

A good blend with red Virginia is especially encouraging in the wake of McClelland's closing. Is this available in bulk?

If it's light on the latakia, I might be persuaded to give it try.

Definitely good with a bit of age. I cracked open a jar with around ten yrs of age on it earlier this year.
To say it was sublime would be an understatement.

Much agreed Capt.
I had purchased a pound of RO and packed a quart jar as full as I could. Had to dig it out with a fork when I discovered it earlier this year. Dandy stuff, for sure.
