So I told you guys the other day that I was on a hunt for a Boswell pipe with my income tax money. Thanks to studious members of this forum relating helpful suggestions, I have found that it really is quite easy to get a Boswell pipe. I called yesterday when the new pipes went up and got in touch with J.M. personally. I told him which pipes I liked but they were sold already and he said "Well let's look and see if we can't find you something pretty close." He quoted me prices and described each pipe in great detail and offered for his wife to send me pictures and prices on pipes that I was interested in. After a lot of chatting and a lot of emailing pictures, I am the proud owner of not 1, but 2 brand new Boswell pipes. J.M and I chatted on the phone for quite a long time about breaking in new pipes, smoking qualities of the Boswell pipes, then he asked me which tobacco samples I wanted, which got us off another tangent and ended in him throwing in an extra 1 oz. sample of tobacco at no extra charge. Everyone at the shop was incredibly pleasant and very friendly and they are all class acts. J.M. made it a point to tell me several times while I was talking to him, "I want you to make sure you get exactly what you want. I'm not happy if you're not happy." If any of you guys have the cash (which prices are very fair by the way), you owe it to yourself to call Boswells and get yourself a pipe. It really isn't as difficult as everyone makes it seem, and the experience couldnt be any more pleasant. Thank goodness someone still does business the right way. My hats off to the people at Boswells for making sure their customers really do come first.

Never spoke with J.M., but Dan is an apple that didn't fall far from the tree in the customer service department. I love my two Boswells and wouldn't hesitate to get another.

OK, for all those interested, here are my 2 new Boswells, a nice all rusticated nose warmer and a pipe that was listed as a "fat belly". Enjoy!

The shape of both is almost kind of a play on the Savinelli 320 shape which I go nuts for. J.M. said that these types of pipes were his favorite. I really love the smooth rim on the one, and I was pretty hard up for a nose warmer to add to my collection, so the second one seemed like a nice choice too.

I love pipes with smooth and rusticated parts.
That was what drew me to that one. At first glance I was afraid the two of them looked too similar, but the smooth parts on the left one combined with the fact that it is a bit bigger and a bit longer made it totally worth it. Now the question is: What tobacco to use to break it in? I know Boswell pipes come with tobacco samples but maybe Ill break them in with some of that Stonehaven rmbittner sent me. Man this is gonna be awesome!

I love my Boswell's pipe and the people there are awesome. You got some good ones I may have to check out some nose warmers here soon. If you ever get into the area, stop by the shop and let me know. (their only an hour and a half from me and I'm always trying to find an excuse to go up) The customer service is outstanding, the smell of the place is amazing, the smoking lounge upstairs is great, and if your timing is right you get the chance to shake hand with the man who made your new favorite pipe. :D
