I live in WI and have been ordering from Uhle's Pipe tobacco. It's good tobacco but with an 8 dollars shipping fee. What are your favorite places to order from and why?

I use Tobaccopipes, Cupojoes, pipesandcigars, and smokingpipes

They all have different specials and deals on certain things. I order from all four.

I mix it up mainly using our sponsors. Smokingpipes.com and P&C offer free shipping for orders over $95 and $79. Tobaccopipes.com is another site that offers free shipping for orders over $75. It depends on who has what in stock and what may be on sale at the time.

I'll buy from anyone that has what I'm looking for, but my best experiences have been with smokingpipes.com. They reliably send everything I order, they do it timely, their packaging is top notch, and their prices are usually competitive if not lower than others'.

My go to is Tobaccopipes.com They still don't charge state sales tax while most of the others do. Probably buy an equal amount from 4noggins, P&C and smokingpipes from what I don't buy from tobaccopipes. Have never found fault with any of them.

I pretty much do the same as what the others are saying. I tend to order from smokingpipes the most, with P&C being a close second.

I always go with SmokingPipes. They usually have a great selection, the shipping is free at $95, and the people are really good. I've met Kaz and Shane at the West Coast Show a few times. Awesome guys to hang out at a pipe show with and really good to do business with. SP is also doing deals a lot and if you work up to at least Silver level they do a good number of promos for that level of customer. Right now at Silver I get 5% of all pipes and I get email notices beforehand on some stock ups from time to time.

TobaccoPipes, P&C and SmokingPipes...all depends on stock availability and sales/specials. Ordered once from L.J. Peretti and their order processing and shipping was slow.

In addition to what already mentioned I would add Mars for blends more difficult to find in the major sites and Sjnyeco (in Switzerland but they ship to USA) for the SG/GH plugs and ropes not available in the USA.

I normally order from Smokingpipes, and Pipesandcigars, but I've often ordered from a number of others, some mentioned above.

I've had good luck with Mars Cigars, they often have blends that are out of stock at SPC, P&C or CupoJoes.

True. I would add; at a price you are willing to pay and not feel you need to start a thread about how much you were forced to pay. If you want to sit in on the game, you have to ante up.

I like 4noggins they are very reliable and have a flat delivery fee. Smokingpipes are ok, sometimes when stuff is on sale I try new tobaccos from them. Tobaccopipes are decent too.

SmokingPipes. They have the most user-friendly site out of all those mentioned as well, I'd like to add. Either their web dev cares about UX, or they have some UX folks that are paying attention.

Plus I'm a bit of a sucker for those badges.

Nearly equal Smoking Pipes and Tobbaco Pipes. Tobacco Pipes has the Hearth and Home series blended by Russ O. and those are some tasty blends.

All of that disappeared from the SPC site when I sign in, I thought they must have cancelled it.

Hmmm, after reading what some are saying about patronizing the site-sponsors, I am thinking I should throw them an order or two also; ad this, I shall do.

However, I have to say, I have only ever used P&C who have been just consistent and great.

P&C really shined when I had a minor issue which required some Customer Service assistance over the phone, and they not only did what I needed them to do, but they hooked-me up with a bonus as well - even though the issue was nothing the did incorrect or poorly.

Really stellar folks at P&C - Sherm Natman

@Mechanic: Going on memory, I think there’s a place in your account settings where you can choose to show or hide your badges. If you’ve turned them off somehow then maybe that’s it? If not, I’d definitely email them and ask, no question. I know I definitely appreciate any discounts I can get!

After all this badge talk I went to go log in to Smoking Pipes and all my badges are gone too. No place to show/hide them either. I no longer get the discounts I used to get. I would have never noticed because I mainly buy tobacco and all the sales were pipe related. Oh well, it was cool to see the badges accumulate over the years but you all know what has to be said here right?

That’s weird. My badges are still up and it’s still showing pipe discounts for me. Hawkey454 & Mechanic, I’d email ‘em.

Or, wait... they’re mad at both of you? Did y’all go in and tear up the place? You know, pushing over drying racks full of tobacco, yelling at the employees, walk out with armloads of GLPease tins and screaming for everyone to lie down and to not try and be a hero? Who drove the get-away car? lol - seriously though I’d ask.

Haha^ Your story is close but it involved different tobacco’s.

I’m not too worried about it. I don’t order much these days so maybe they stripped me of my privileges.

Pipes & Cigars and Smoking Pipes are my two most-used. Both seem to have great selections and prices, and affordable and fast shipping. I also ordered once from WV Smokeshop, and they were very similar.

To what already listed I would add Mars for blends which are sold out at the main USA vendors. Also I would mention Synjeco for plugs and ropes which are nearly impossible to be found in the USA, they are based in Switzerland but they are still shipping to the USA.

Smokingpipes. I’ve never ordered tobacco from anywhere else. Likewise for buying pipes, although I did get two NOS pipes from eBay once and I had one pipe made to order from a guy who’s name I’ve forgotten.

SP's, 4noggins & WCC's. (Not necessarily in that order of preference). However, I'm surprised to only see WCC's get one mention here. Ernie and the crew there are great. They have some of the best blends around the traps, so it's surprising they are not seen mentioned more often.

    When I want the 'best price' on a C&D blend, it's SP.C.
If I want the best price on D&R, it's p&c.

All eccentricity here: For years my go-to blend sources were Iwan Ries and smokingpipes.com. Iwan Ries got into state sales and tobacco taxes, which is fair to IR but expensive, and they jacked up their shipping besides, and then I lost access to both to a gimpy OP on my device, so for several years my go-to has been PC, which has done well by me both in terms of filling orders promptly and offering some excellent discounts. I order from other online places, and I try to make a point of buying from my local independent pipe shop for somewhat higher prices to keep them going. Lately availability on specific items in both pipes and blends has been spotty, but so far I've gotten what I need, mostly. I plan to install a somewhat more recent but still outdated OP, and if that doesn't work, invest in a new device, and see how it goes. The current device is 2009 vintage, which by tech standards is shortly after the dawn of the universe. I'm not in harmony with technology, but I participate with it and do what I can. I suspect if I'd been born in 1986 and grown up with it, it would be the air I breathe. I'd also claim I had on-the-job introduction and training in digital technology that amounted to precisely effective aversion therapy. If you'd done it my way, you wouldn't like it either.
