I can't comment on English as I simply don't smoke enough of them to qualify a Top 3. On the aro front I would recommend:
Sutliff Molto Dolce

McClelland Deep Hollow (I put this in the aro category because while it is a VA the casing leans more aro)

Sutliff Country Estate
For VAs:
Orlik Golden Sliced

Most anything from McClelland

Peter Stokebye's Luxury Bullseye Flake
Those are easier to find, easy on the wallet and smooth. I would recommend Wessex Brigade Campaign Dark Flake, which is always in limited supply. I excluded VaPers as I stuck to straight VA.

I like to acquire stuff I haven't tried in all categories. I read reviews, check sales, and bring em in a few at a time. Then? I let 'em sit there and feel good that I have them, and smoke my CH, PA, or my bulk blends. For awhile, anyway. I've got aro, English and VaPa bulks and recently was gifted 4 samples from a B&M blender who has been operating since 1977. The Pipe Den @ www.pipeandcigar.com has two aros I tried this weekend that I found delicious and nutritious. Royal Poinciana, and Orchid Isle. Tasty cavs in these blends.

From my not very extensive experience I'd say
Condor Plug

Mississippi River

Sam Gwaith Full Virginia Flake
I smoked these over the weekend and found they make a really good days rotation.

My invitation to this thread musta got lost in the mail...I didn't see burley on your list
Wessex Burley Slice

Carter Hall
H&H Classic Burley Kake is a pretty good aromatic, ie it tastes good for an aro.

Mrs curl really likes Captain Black Regular...if it only tasted as good as it smells.
My favorite English is Dunhill Early Morning Pipe.
And for Va-Per, I just took advantage of P&C's offer to buy 3 and get 4 Orlik Golden Slice tins. This is what I smoke when I'm in Mr. Natural mode.
This thread has potential to be pinned to the top.

Virginia/Periques are the only ones I feel qualified to comment on...
Escudo

Reiner Long Golden Flake

Rattray's Hal O The Wynd
Three rather different takes on VAPers, but all of them top quality IMO. The Reiner is the most approachable. The Hal and the Escudo are both heavier blends, but different from one another.

English:

Germain Latakia Flake (good luck finding it)

Captain Earle 10 Russians

Penzance (again, good luck)
Virginia:

Stonehaven (good luck)

F&T Cut Virginia Plug

Gawith St. James Flake (good luck)
Aromatic:

I have too limited experience to comment.
As you can tell, the problem is not only deciding which to try, but finding these 'best of the best' blends in stock. Everyone else wants em too. You should also consider the Balkan category- although some might lump this into English.
