My ex wife's mother in law paid for the entire family to go on a cruise. Not me, mind you, just my kids and all the rest of her family. wives, husbands, etc.
The cruise is about a week, and Fathers Day occurs in the middle of it, so my 16 year old son and my 11 year old daughter feel obligated to come back with some sort of present.
The are in Belize, at some tourist trap, and my son runs in and grabs the first t-shirt and shot glass on the rack and hauls ass, shopping for dad is done.
My daughter decides to take her time and consideration to hunt for the perfect present for her old man.
She decides to buy me a pipe, seeing as how I am a pipe smoker.
My ex tried to dissuade her from this, but she is insistent as only 11 year old girls can be. So eventually a pipe purchase, from Belize, is made for dad and his special day.
This will be wonderful food for Thanksgiving Day conversations in about 10 years.
