1 gallon of apple cider
1 can frozen concentrated orange juice, thawed
1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
1 tsp whole allspice
1/2 tsp whole cloves
6 cinnamon sticks
Heat everything up for a while, put into hot mug, add booze of choice, (I like captain morgan spiced rum)and add a cinnamon stick and orange wedge. Enjoy

From the title of this post I would leave out the booze. I may be one of the few alcoholics on the forum. Please don't give us alcohol. We tend to be allergic and break out in orange jump suits and handcuffs :lol:

There is nothing better on a cold night in the winter. We'll maybe except Hot Buttered Rum, but that's a whole nother drink.

natibo, keep on recovering, and good for you. I love the image of breaking out in an orange
jump suit. But you raise a good point, that these hot, mulled (or whatever) beverages work
without the booze. I think as long as people know what's in it, so they can indulge or avoid,
it's okay. Something (good) needs to be provided for people who don't do alcohol, for whatever
reasons. Diabetics can't do it either, and people with other conditions. I don't have a substance
abuse problem with alcohol, but I don't find it makes me jolly and sociable either, more like
a growing sedation. So if I want to stay with the party, not much for me.

Hot Apple Pie
1 envelope of apple cider mix (usually sold in boxes of 12)
1-2 oz. Butterscotch Schnapps
Hot water
Whipped cream
Dissolve the apple cider mix in a cup of hot water (leave room for the schnapps)
Add the schnapps, stir well
Top with whipped cream
