My order finally came through, thanks to a friendly neighbour who collected it for me while I was away from home.
First one of Haddo's, FVF, and Hal O The Wynd was unceremoniously rejected at the border, but the backup of Best Brown Flake and Golden Glow sailed on past em'
I put the BBF on a cookie sheet, pre-heated the oven to hot and then turned it off. In went the BBF for about 5 minutes and it came out just as I like it. A perfect bowl while the BBQ is on fire with some dino ribs, steaks and sausage.
I was a bit worried that the oven would somehow alter the taste of BBF, as I normally sun-cure it on my deck, but I can't detect any change. I might just do this from now on.
With a pipe filled with this flake and a BBQ driving the dogs within a mile nuts, I can almost feel content and don't even think much about this place turning into a dictatorship in a month. Perhaps the cachaca is helping it along as well...
