Couple of days ago I opened a tin of Star of the East Flake from 2016.

I found it to be kinda similar to Bengal Slices. I finished a tin of them just over a month ago.

Anyone else finds those blends similar?

Star of the East is way more ... Latakish :) (given the fact that I recently puffed away a 8years old tin)

Bengal is a bit more round up;

I've yet to try the flake. I had the Star of the East mixture. For awhile it was my favorite English. Then GLP Westminster landed in my pipe.

No Monsanto products were used in Bengal Slices.

I find the two to be very different. I enjoy both very much. SotE Flake is great for those really cold nights. I agree with Cosmic, it's much more sour in flavor making it a pretty unique blend. BS is a bit softer and sweeter. Both great choices for the winter time in my opinion.
