P&C will soon have it on their site as well. Other e-tailers are getting their shipments as I type this.

Strange. Somebody told me today that it'll be couple of weeks before it shows up. Ok then...

No, Leon. What I told you today on the phone was that I didn't know, but expected it to be within the next week or so.

A 2 tin limit! Awesome for you guys. We have a new Penzance! I'll settle for 2, but would prefer a few dozen. Great stuff! I love that leathery flavor.

Already sold out. I think you're right about it being the new Penzance, @Cosmic. That and Exotic Orange strangely enough.

P&C will have it up soon, as will any other e-tailer that has ordered it. I know that 4Noggins, Mars and Iwin Reiss usually carry it.

It seems like ages since I had Bengal Slices....great stuff. One of these days I'll be on the right website, at the right time, with the right amount of money in the bank, and my TAD shall be sated !! Come to think of it, it's been a while since I had any Warhorse either. I'm just grateful the fine folks at Standard Tobacco Company of Pennsylvania are churning out world class blends I enjoy. Keep up the good work!

@Bluegrasspipe -I now know not to step away, or even blink, while ordering Bengal Slices. Better luck to you next time.

In stock notifications from SP were explained recently around the latest Esoterica madness

Long story short if they receive say 100 tins - the first 100 customers that signed for in stock notification get the mail
Then they get moved to the end of the list (given the fact they sign again for notification).

But if you are N 650 in the list and you will receive in stock only if they have received at least 650 tins of the particular blend.

It is a cool system, at SP but I signed up for a few hard to get items about 2 years ago and have yet to receive a notification.
I was not aware we have a new Penzance frenzy on our hands, next time I will checkout immediately.

Easy to imagine they got less than hundred of Penzance tins for example.
Two years means like 4-5 deliveries so you if you initially were somewhere above the 500 mark.

More annoying is that you may very well miss it and here you are back on the bottom of the line

I have yet to try it, but I have seen a comparison between Bengal Slices and Seattle Pipe Club's Plum Pudding, which I love.
3rdguy or Woodsroad, what do you think about that comparison? The ingredients seem basically the same.

Russ created Fusiliers' Ration to be a 'tribute' to Bengal Slices. It receives good reviews. I have tried it and like it, but have never had any Bengal Slices to compare it to. Russ created the 'Ration' before he got the inside info to re-create Bengal Slices. Sure wish I could find some Bengal Slices.

The irony is that up until Woods and Condor revived this blend, the Briary couldn't sell Bengal Slices at all. They had a whole crate in the tobacco room for years and years. I actually tried it, and was not wow'd by the original. But, when the new release of it was announced it suddenly became everyone's favorite, and Skip finally managed to unload a ton of it that had aged in the humidor. Funny how things work that way.

Hmm I need to add this to my buy list sometime. It may take me a year or two to get to it as I've got 25 or so blends sitting in a box that I haven't gotten around to.

Ready for some BLASPHEMY? I just tried Bengal Slices for the first time... and... and... I don't like them at all. They taste just like any other run of the mill Lat blend. I was hoping there would be a sweet topping to compliment the Lat, kind of like a sweet and spicy flavor. Oh well, I have 7 tins that I'll store and try again next year.

Ben Gay Slices is best fresh. You need to sit on the Preparation HH for a while.

Bengal Slices were lingering few months ago for quite some time on SP and 4noggins.
Bought like 15 tins or so.

It is good, but not to die for, so I am passing it by since.

I "could" sell(or give) my Bengal Slices but the 7 tins I have are hypothetical. Two weeks ago I was able to order 5 tins from P&C and my order status still says "Shipment Pending". I think they had some type of glitch that showed them in stock when in reality they were not. Of the 2 tins I just received from SPs I just gave one to a buddy of mine who was visiting from out of state. So that leaves me with 1.. which is being stored with all the other tobaccos that I don't like. Hoping with some age I'll like them.

Last time most of the sites had it for several days and without buying limitations - dunno if people were not aware or just not much of an interest.

Stupid thing is that it is the next hysteria just because you cant find it available, people are going nuts and buying regardless.

To me there is something new on the retrohale, haven't had anything quite like it.I am referencing/paraphrasing the same ol same ol lat post.

I do think the latest blend may greatly benefit from some aging to fully pull the flavor out. I am just finishing my first tin of 4 however.

I do realize I have few posts but I am tossing my gray hairs down!

I think it is really good.

I got a nice fat flake of Bengal Slices from jitterbugdude today, thanks Randy! I carefully rubbed out about a third of it and promptly went out to enjoy this wonderful fall day. A very nice smoke indeed. The rest of the flake got ensconced in my old Bengal Slices tin I got from ebay. I will wait for another beautiful day to try it again.
Oh, Randy also sent me a sample of one of his blends. I will try my best to review it when I try it.

It's pretty tasty stuff, kinda like smoking good barbeque, a bit of sweet and spicy. I have a few tins set aside. The samples that I shared with my pipe club, to announce its release in 2015, was wiped out in nanoseconds
