This is going to a Major who happens to be my Sister's Son-in-Law I still have to

darken the leather with Neatsfoot Oil. I thought about doing Key Fobs with pipes on them.

I am doing a pocket protector for shop work. Might do one with Tobacco logos on the out side flap.

Anyway It,s fun.

I like the idea of a pipe holster now it just needs a baccy pouch with tamper and match slots and you have a backpackers dream.

very nice job sir. i like the idea of tobacco pouches made of leather with lets say names like half+half, swr, carter hall, stamped on the pouches. i had a pipe holster a long time ago. i was pretty hard on the pipe, meaning that it would get bumped around and hit things that put dings on the pipe, but i did like the holster.with the pipe hanging off your hip it is exsposed to elements that could damage the pipe, of course i could have been more concious of what i was doing with my pipe in its holster hanging from my side. you do good work JOE. thanks for the post.
take care.

Bang !!!

Working on this. Need to round corners and it is 1/4 inch too shallow.

You can see that I tanned the holder. It swivels.

Thank you guys for the kind words. Evan my wife is getting to like the things i do.

These are going out too be well used. a Tamper loop could be added. As for damaging pipes.I wouldn't

think you would have your best pipe when you use it but a knock around pipe that shows it has been

into things.

I aint saying but if you all have an idea let me know.

Thanks again

Looking good Joe. I like the one you made for me. I no longer drop pipes from my shirt pocket when working outside!

Thanks again.

Mlyvers--- I have made 3 pouches. the leather is like upholstery and

can not be tooled. I done one for Al and cut a section out.

and stitched a patch on the inside of it. You more or less

have to hand hold it.

There suppose to be a stampable leather that's real pliable.

When i buy more leather I will check it out.

Someone uses his shirt pocket as a catch all and drops everything.

Maybe a Dr.G. pocket protector!!!!

I want one of those leather loops you put around your belt, and then can take it off, set it on its side and use it for a pipe stand

Jsiddle,

Now i think i know what you mean. Ok here goes-

belt clip with a leather strap that the stem just slide down to the bowl.

When taken off belt it sivels 90degrees and the sports the bowl and the stem

sands up straight. The leatehr strap wide enough to put a logo on.

Just a simple short piece of leather, about the width of a belt, about 6-8 inches long, the two ends joined by a snap...
you can snap it around your belt for transport, and remove it and fasten to create a stand

I'm going to make a few of those. I bought some screws from Lowes that will work. I have one of those, made by member Sorringowl and realized a few weeks ago, this is the most convenient stand I have. The pipe doesn't fall out, the leather doesn't scratch the bowl and you can jam it in my pipe case or pocket easily (never thought about hanging it on my belt loop). I have some leather strap from an old ladies purse kit, a few leather tools and some dye. Look out, now I'm doing leather work!

Al, With your restoration skills and as as Luke would say---You will do good.

Do not for get, you can use old belts.. Flea market time.

HF has cheap hole punches. Dyes are usually same for wood and leather.
