Wow!! What did you do to get the stem restored so nicely?
Great restoration! I'm with Cortez, how and what did you use?
Great transformation!!
Wow, that is a great restoration job. Welldone.
Actually, i soak the stem in regular bleach! first, i wash it to remove any oils then soak for about 5 minutes. Then i wash it again, with a light scrub with a fiber pot scrubber followed by another 5 minutes in the bleach.
Rinse, dry, and finally buff it out on the linen wheel.
Fantastic job flanative. Hope it smokes well for you.
Very nicely done !

Very good job, something to be proud of. I bet it smokes good too.

You make it sound so easy. It wouldn't have been immodest to title this thread "Night & Day".
Dang. This inspires me to buy up a lot of estate pipes to try my own hand at restoration.
Also, what is the buffing wheel you use?
Very nice job Flanative.
onizuka, do it! It is an easy and cheap way to get some really good wood, and it is fun to see if you can return the pipe to its former glory!
Great job on the restoration!
very nice job fla,you do nice work
