    These pipes I put together from my junk box. Top two had no stems . The Tyrolean is assembles from spare parts with a mount and stem I whipped up. The bottom two were from a box of stummels I got a couple of years ago . The bottom I carved in knotwork and the one above it had a serious shank crack. So I cut it off and added a new shank.

    If at first you don't succeed you are running about average.

    They are all very lovely. I especially like the middle one, it has a lot of character!

    About the third from the top...Is the colored band by chance purple?

    Very nice, Arthur. That's a great way to bring some old pipes back from the scrap heap. I definitely like that wind-capped one

    I know we need to get UA a new camera. Believe me, the pics really do no justice to the actual depths of color on the pipes.

    That third from the top has a piece of burgundy pearl Lucite to tie the pieces together. It was an off cut from making the tamper for the swap.
