Hi Peck,
I find the draw open, not quite like the new generation of makers using a 4.3 mm or greater airway, but very easy to sip. The bits are very comfortable and stable in the mouth. Really close to an effortless smoke.

Now you guys have done it, Peck will be your biggest competition for the nice Barlings on the market. When he gets on a brand it is all over.

Peck, if you're fussy about the buttons, it can be hard to find a Barling's Make that still has a well-defined one. My 3 have all had the buttons worn down through years of use and oxidation removal and 2 of those pipes were in excellent shape so it wasn't from abuse. The stem is, however, comfortably thin at the button on all 3.
